The B.U.D.S. Lubbock Buddy Walk® is a family-friendly and FREE event open to all children and adults with Down syndrome, their families, friends, and local supporters. As a direct result of event sponsorships, team fundraising, and generous public donations, B.U.D.S. is able to continue providing resources, informational programs, parent support networks, and social events for individuals with Down syndrome.

  • REGISTRATION: We invite all attendees who will walk to register and agree to the liability waiver.  As an event participant (walker or non-walker), you can JOIN a team or CREATE your own team.  Click the "Register" button above or below to create or join a team.  While the Walk is a FREE event, there is a one-time, TEAM CAPTAIN $10 registration fee which kicks off your fundraising efforts!

  • T-SHIRTS: Will be available for pre-order through the shirt section below. We encourage you to pre-order your shirt online!

  • COST: FREE to ENTER and ATTEND!  But please remember, donations are encouraged and needed! The Buddy Walk® is the ONLY fundraiser of the year for B.U.D.S. – Better Understanding of Down Syndrome, so please give generously!  You may donate to a particular team or make a general donation; click on the "Donate" button or the "Register" button if you will be attending The Buddy Walk®.

Any amount is greatly appreciated but we suggest a minimum donation of $21, symbolic of the extra 21st chromosome present in individuals with Down syndrome.  B.U.D.S. thanks you for your support!

ALL FUNDS raised stay here in the Lubbock community and benefit B.U.D.S. Lubbock.

B.U.D.S. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so all donations are tax-deductible.

Buddy Walk 2022's

EVENT SCHEDULE

8 a.m. to 10 a.m. – Set up for volunteers and sponsors

10 a.m. – Gates open, families and friends arrive, games and activities open and will be ongoing throughout the day

10:45 a.m. – Welcome and Announcements

11:30 a.m. – Performance by Ultimate Cheer

12 to 12:15 p.m. – Line up for the walk and pictures

12:15 p.m. – Walk begins. Walkers may walk the track for as long as they'd like. After 1 lap, we will present medals to our friends with Down syndrome.

1 p.m. – Performance by Dance Abilities

2 to 3 p.m. – The event concludes. Clean-up begins.
