Congratulations on the arrival, or expected arrival, of your new baby! This is truly a time of joy and celebration! While a Down syndrome diagnosis is not what you expected, please know that your baby is more like other babies than different. We understand that you may be feeling all sorts of emotions and that is completely normal. Most parents have these same feelings when they learn their child has Down syndrome. While there will certainly be challenges in raising your child, know there will be many, many joys too. Keep in mind that while Down syndrome is a condition your baby has, it is not who they are.
